Picked up the unit from UPS this morning ... it is a nicely packaged unit with a muffler, resonator and 2.5" mandrel bent piping. And to an untrained eye like mine, it looks like a great quality system.
I will post some pics of the pieces after I get home from work this evening. Stratmosphere has delivered the system as promised and seem to be great folks to deal with ... thanks Pete.
More on the rest as and when I install it.

Re: Milltek 2.5" catback is here ... (schrickedVR6)

schrickedVR6, you have a very nice car I must say and a quick one too @ ATCO
I am excited and anxious about this exhaust ... just hope I like it and its not loud (I've heard its the most silent one out there).
Will post pics and weight of the system as it sits @ home later today.

Pal,
Glad to hear you're impressed with the fit and finish. It is superb.
Just FYI, if anyone's interested in these on the west coast, you can get the Forge unit(very very similar to the Milltek) from us as we're a direct Forge distributor. Price is a little cheaper than Strat as well:
Forge Motorsport Mk4 VR6/1.8T Exhaust: $585: 100% T304 Stainless Construction; For use w/o 4motion rear valance
Forge Motorsport Mk4 VR6/1.8T Exhaust: $685: 100% T304 Stainless Construction; For use w/ 4motion rear valance; valance included
Let me know if there are any questions.
HTH,
Jeremy

The unit weighs 34 lbs on a regular bathroom scale and here is a pic ... it should go on the car in a few days and then I'll get some sound clips.

congrats, that looks like a really nice exhaust. From what i've heard, this sounds like the perfect exhaust for me since it is quiet until you get on the throttle. I am not a fan of the loud exhausts, but i would like to hear something, and with the stock setup you can barely hear the car running.
I was looking at Supersprint, Magnaflow, and Milltek, but i keep leaning towards Magnaflow because of the great GB prices. The other two are almost twice the price of the Magnaflow exhaust system, and i'm poor.

quote:

Congrats, pal! I've got the Milltek on my 1.8t and I absolutely love it. I'd really like to hear a sound clip of it on the VR6....

Will do Brandon
I have an appointment with the shop near my place for the install and the before/after dyno pulls on Wednesday. I'll try and get a sound clip of the car before and after along with the dyno results.
quote:

Those tips are very different looking. That muffler looks huge!

The tips dont have a Milltek logo so are plain ... I like that as it gives an OEM look to it. And they are slant cut from top to bottom. The muffler is quite big ... hopefull it should muffle effectively and not drone.

Jeremy: Do you guys have one for the mk3 GTI's? Have you had any on the dyno? A baffle in my stock muffler came loose and it was driving me insane with rattles for the last couple of months before I left. I was thinking I was going to have to break down and by a TT/loud exhaust when I get back but this may be a better option for me.

Pal, let me know how the install goes. Where'd you go and how much? If that's ok. I've got one sitting on the floor waiting to go on. It is a mean looking unit. Also i wonder what our performance gains will be. By the german industrial looks of it; serious. I have a giac chip and will be dropping in an abt air filter. sleeper look.
