i cant figure out why my trans almost always grinds into reverse. some times it wont. but most of the time it does. and when it does its always a bitch getting the car into first or second. i tried aligning the linkage. didnt change anything. think i should try again maybe i messed up time to rebuild the linkage, or can it be something else?

thank you for explaining all that. actually really helpful. im going to replace the cable cause i wanted to any way cause its looking old, and im changing the trans fluid cause i have a leak from around the speedo cable.

but my only question is it being a coming and going problem. like today....... only grinded once when i pulled into a friends house. but when i backed up my driveway nothing. would it pint more to a simple replacement of my clutch cable or something inside my trans.
