My god, I'm a nerd! I take time out of studying for my exams to show you guys this!

Anyway, this is a model I have of a MK2 golf not assembled yet. Pretty cool except for the rims (they're sh!tty 85 jetta wheels). BBS wheels would have looked a lot better. Nice recaros though

My buddy bought the same model and did it up!! Lowered it, tinted lights etc.
Yes folks... we are losers with no time on our hands!!!

Re: MK2 GTI - Miniature Model!!! (VWsuperhero)

ya, where can we get that?
Re: MK2 GTI - Miniature Model!!! (Dutchman)

I knew that was coming. It's made by Fujimi (that's why they have no idea about the name; "VW Golf Rabbit Gti 16V") It says 42 on it. I think that's the model #.
I got it at some "underground" chinese model place. This company (Fujimi) has a lot of Japanese cars like the Skyline etc. Also, I live in Canada if that makes any difference...

Re: MK2 GTI - Miniature Model!!! (Sebeck1)

Sweet!!! I want one!
btw, TAMIYA makes a 1/10th MK4 GOLF remote control front wheel drive car... I picked one up and it's a pretty good quality kit. I got it for a model but it was too tempting to drive so now it's a little beat up.

Re: MK2 GTI - Miniature Model!!! (8vGTI)

Did a search in yahoo and came up with this place, http://www.gticlub-holland.nl/modelbouw.html

Re: MK2 GTI - Miniature Model!!! (GTX 16v)

the fujimi models are much MUCH better than the Revell, I have both kinds. I have 3 Fujimi's, 2 built, 1 waiting for my ideas and some 8" BBS's. 2 Rabbits, 1 Golf 3, a Revell Corrado zender Convertible, and the Revell GTI that I parted out....the list goes on

These are all 1/24 scale. Though they are no longer made and are extremely hard to find. They used to sell for about 15-20 bucks here in the US. But I paid 7-8 bucks each in hk...

They do require expert painting skills to look good

What took you guys so long to realize that these were available??

I'll try to take some shots of it and post later. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Hey, since you're a model geek, would you happen to know if there are some B3 Passat models out there??? (yeah, I know, pretty unlikely model!!!) I know that Herpa made them in 1/87th and Shabak has a diecast model as well... I'd like to know if there are others... Especially since you are in europe, you might have better luck!!! Most shop owners here are like "wah?? What's a Passat???"

Dan (JettaManDan) has the 1/10th-scale Tamiya remote-control version of his car; painted with authentic Rave Green paint, and he's even got similar wheels to his real-life Borbets... very sweet!
