Mk2 guage cluster in another band car

anyone ever tried this? i'm thinking of doing this into my truck since it has no tach and I have a spare mk2 guage cluster left over...it could be more of a hassle but I jsut wanna hear what you guys think...i've heard of Honda guages in a VW before...
