Ok, please dont flame, but any body with a stock vr6 in a mk2 whats your gas mileage? Im thining of doing a swap but this is very important to me as i dont want to be really broke or be really not-going-anywhere. Also, in the future i may want to turbo charge it, anyone with a vr6t?

Well I guess it all depends how heavy your right foot is!!! The mileage is the same. I haven't noticed a difference in km's per tank than what mk3 owners claim to get with their A3 VRs. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I've been getting about 20 mpg with a stock Corrado VR6 in my A2 Golf. The best I've ever seen was about 23 mpg on a long trip.
With gas prices the way they are a TDI sounds like a great idea!

Re: Mk2 vr6 swap gas mileage (speedgeek)

My vr (stock with exception of custom intake and exhaust) averages around 16-20 mpg in the city, around 22 mpg on highways. I drive somewhat conservitavely, but occasionally the gas pedal is fully opened. Personally I could care less how my gas mileage is, the extra $$ for gas comes second when it comes to having a car that moves. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Mine usually got about 12-16 MPG around town and about 18-20 hwy.
My g60 car was showing 34.0 on the freeway a little while ago.

i get 330 km's on a city tank and about 450 on the hwy....thats with a cold air intake, chip and exhaust...in a mk2....plus she runs super cool 80 degrees celcius....which doesnt help the mileage....
