After my brother had his wife's Tracker DECIMATED by three crazy kids in a CRX, he needs a new car.
We're looking at a white '95 Mk3 GTI VR6. 78k miles on the clock for about $6k.
The price seems good, the mileage seems good, and I love the VR6 . . . but how is the reliability? Is 95 a good year for the VR6? Is there anything he should look-out for if he makes the buy? Is the car going to be a maintenance nightmare? I'm sure it'll be a blast to drive.

95 VR6 is OBDI
if you can i would shoot for a 96 and up
they are OBDII --- many problems (there arent many) on the OBDI cars were corrected in the OBDII models......
sounds like a very fair prices though and no it will not be a maintanence nightmare

How does the OBDI compare to the OBDII in terms of performance?
What sort of changes were made to arrive at the OBDII?
What version of the VR6 do they put in Mk4s?
