So I’m looking to get a golf GTI but can’t decide which to get there a 04 mk4 with 128k miles at a dealer for 3995 or a mk5 GTI 108k miles for 6995 at another dealer, I can’t decide there both stock and manual and I plan to chip it and other mods

I'd go for the MK4. If its the 1.8T engine, then you're fine. They don't get enough credit tbh.
As for the MK5, I cant really speak much for them, no experience. However, I can say that they look butt-fck ugly...

All things being equal, the MK5 would be a the better choice, better chassis, more potential from the motor, etc.. Now, there's nothing wrong with the 1.8t MK4, I've had two.. So, drive both, take note of what you like and don't like and go from there.

I had a 20th gti and now own a mk5 gti it’s def much faster then my jazzy blue mk4 but I’m now chipped and it’s quicker but I bought it like that...i think The choice is urs but have fun!!
