so I'm going to cali in march. staying in the palm springs area. I'd really really like to hit up a junkyard with a lot of MKIII's it would be so nice since we have only 2 wrecked ones in the state.
anyone know of a good mkIII yard in socal that they will let you walk around ?

There is a place here in oregon that only does that stuff. No really worth the 12 hour drive though, yes I said 12 hours, Portland Oregon to L.A. in 12 hours! Not to bad for a six cylinder huh?

there are 2 larger ones that are mostly watercooled, i dont have the numbers handy though...

Come to Sacramento, CA. Weve got tons of em, VW specialized recyclers that have only newer VW cars. http://www.specializedgerman.com or http://www.germanpartshaus.com both places are in Rancho Cordova a few miles outside of Sac, but theyve got primo stuff.

I guess I'm lucky, the local junkyard here in MA has 6 or 7 Mk3s (Golfs and Jettas) and get new ones on a fairly regular basis

Really? What junkyard is this? Give details! The ones around me have like maybe *one* A3 and ABC is kinda far away, and closed on weekends...
