I installed an amped Bazooka T82A in my 00 GTI non-monsoon, using the gray wire to the CD changer as the sub turnon (someone else reported this worked fine, and my sub doesn't have the newer input-detect turnon function). It sounds pretty good but my problem is at turn-off: the gray wire stays hot for a short time (about 2s?) after the radio dies, and the sub spews some nasty feedback rumble before shutting down. Any suggestions? Thanks muchly.

Re: MkIV amp turnon wire problem (NEPA_GTI)

I use the Blaupunkt adapter's turn-on wire and it shuts right off. . .I suspect that turn-on for the CD changer has a delay for the CD changer to normalize after stereo shut down, but I don't know for sure
Cheers

You can tap off of your stereos ignition wire and use that for the amp turn off and turn on.
