there should be a sticky thread on top of this forum saying "everything you need to know about air intakes"
you open it and sand down the little fins inside, remove the J shaped piping and put in a K&N filter

NOTE: Although you never hear about it here, in the original thread I linked to above you have to pay out of your rear to get top quality (no ridges) big diameter tubing. And the filter is not a K&N, it's ITG, which also costs an arm and a leg.
If you're doing it to save money, don't bother, because if you plan on doing it right, it'll cost about the same, plus alot more work.

read this, http://www.bolhuijo.com/airflowtest/ , I'm not so sure about the ITG filter. It tested #4 out of 5 in this test. At the bottom of the page under links, click on "larger photos" and read the captions under the filter pics.
