More tranny problems.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!pics inside.

I just had my clutch/flywheel/quaife installed last weekend. I ordered the ES dogbone mount inserts and got them in yesterday. Well i go out put the car up on jack stands and what do i find. Tranny oil everywhere. It looks like it is leaking and the driveshaft is flinging it everywhere
. I am so pissed
. I got all the work done at Eastside motorsports in MD. I have to call Dave tomorrow and see what the deal is. I have some pics. Is this normal.



Here is what else i found. This is my fault i guess.


Anyone know where you can get the stock mount....or just this hat peice.

damn man that sucks. hope you get everything worked out. i have close to no technical knowledge, so i can't help. i don't see that as being normal though.

Hehe thats just my swaybar. I painted it black...it was red. i guess some of the black is comming off.

Not sure how the mount broke. I am guessing from wheel hop, but i only had my car a week and i dont drive it everyday....just on the weekends. I have gotten no wheel hop since the diff was installed. Maybe it was broke before the install and the guy didnt notice it. I dont know

It looks like you slammed the engine too hard on the stock bushings. The stock busings are real crap, and anyone who has removed their dogbone will know what I mean. They allow the mount to slam and the engine to take alot of abrupt force.
Bundaho - clean off all the tranny fluid and run the engine. Try to locate the source of it if you can. You may have cracked the housing of the tranny somwhere when that mount broke. I don't know
I have my stock dogbone laying around here. They go for 85$ new and don't sell im pieces. make me an offer over IM. By ups ground it will be there tuesday.

Ill try that tomorrow. BTW what is the difference between regular oil and tranny oil....at operating temp. I mean in color. It looked like oil comming from around where the diff is located not the engine side of the trans. Is it possible its engine oil.

Just checked. The leaking is deffinitly comming from the transmission. It is comming from the where the diff is. The bolts going around the diff and where the driveshaft meets the trans on the drivers side is leaking. I dont think the bolts were torqued properly because all the bolts have oil glaze around them.

If it is the tranny, he definitely did not seal the two halves together properly. In order to repair this correctly, he will have to remove the tranny and take it completely apart again. Yeah for him.....

From the pics, it _almost_ looks like it could be a coolant leak(color for redline and coolant are very similar). Make absolutely sure it is the tranny and bring it back to the guy....you have to be careful with who you bring your car to for a Quaife install...having done a few, I can tell you that it's not something you want to bring to a first timer......
