I have installed all three of the VW Motorsport motor mounts and now things are really loud. Has anyone else installed all three and if so could you please write a description of how your car sounds now. Also is there any chance that I could have broken anything during the install? Everything seems to be fine but it sure is loud!
Thanks

Re: Motormount problem, trust me this a new one ;) (EPilot)

I upgraded two of them. The dogbone and then the passenger side mount and the noise didn't seem to increase at all. However the past weekend I installed the driver's side mount and then bam it was like I had a misfire or something. I expected some noise but this is harsh considering what had happened up till now.

I had the dogbone one at first but was still getting wheel hop and then decided to upgrade all of them. My concern is that the car sounds almost like it is firing on three cylinders. I would like to know if anyone else has installed all three mounts and let me know what it sounded like. I'm not getting any hesitation and the car still pulls strong but the sound is a little worriesome.

Re: Motormount problem, trust me this a new one ;) (tobyc)

this is all the same issue i had to resolve in the Porsche club.
Many guys w/914-6's wanted to have cleaner/smoother shifting; so the switch both the engine and tranny mounts to race types (mix of Delrin and Poly types).
All were UNHAPPY with the shear volume of noise/harshness/vibrations transmitted to the cabin.
If you want a race-car type quality of shifting/engine-tranny placement, you are going to have to accept the race-car type issues that go with them.
Don't like it, take them out. Otherwise, live with it.

I don't mind the noise so long as nothing is broken or wrong. That's why I'm asking if anyone else has done this mod and let me know what they found so that I know everything is fine with my car. If it is then I'm leaving them in. If what I'm hearing is truly a problem then I need to get something fixed.
