moving 6.5 inch components else where in golf. ideas?

I hate where the stock rear speakers are in my golf. They get blocked by rear passengers and i have to compensate on fade. I've been thinking of a project to place them in the rear somehow over the cover thingy in the back. What i need to know is what would be a good enclosure for my 6.5 component speakers that i will somehow reposition back there. Got any possible dimensions of said enclosure??
Has anybody else done this? I was thinking of possibly using the cover thingy to put the speakers in and use a easily snap on/off connector when it needs out.
