I just picked up an MP3 player for a steal today. I was just curious if I could wire it into my OEM system. I have the OEM headunit, which is pre-wired for the cd changer. So i was thinking maybe someone would know how to wire it so I can just hit "cd" and then play the mp3 player thru that "channel".
Anyone anyone?

Re: MP3 hardwire?! is it possible? (MK-Ultra)

I have heard of auxilliary input adapters for factory radios but don't recall exactly where to go. I saw it in a car audio magazine. I would definately just buy one than trying hardwire one in. The radio usually looks for a resistance between two wires on the plug to see that the external unit is connected. Which would give you that source as an option. There will a 12v, ground, and signal (three wires more).

Blitzsafe is another maker of aux adapters: http://www.blitzsafe.com/blitz....html, (although I've never used one).
If your MP3 player is an iPod, you can also get an adapter that will control and power/charge your iPod from your head unit: http://www.densionusa.com/x/in...id=79
I've just been looking into (self installed) MP3 player options myself. You may find some of these general installation/dash disassembly links of inerest too:
