i don't know how low your car will be, but it shouldn't be a problem having them...
i had the same thoughts before....but i left them in, they work wonders...
I'm getting rid of mine as soon as my suspension goes on. I like them but I'm scraping the sidewalk in front of my house at stock height. They will be too low with my suspension.
I've got them on my golf!! I really like them. They reduce the junk that flies up onto the paint and also help reduce the junk that flies up onto the hatch. As any Golf / GTi owner knows VW supplies a lifetime supply of dirt with our cars.
for those of you with painted valances and mud flads... did you paint the flaps to? or did you leave them black? i can't figure out whether to take them off or paint them too when i get my valances done...
They seem appropriate if you reside near the Arctic circle, live in North Dakota (same thing), and/or have fantasies about Saabs (seek help immediately). Other than that, they seem a little bit affected, in my often misguided opinion.
quote:

I've got a white Jetta with mudflaps and I like them. They give the car a squatty look in the back IMO.

That's true they do help make the car look lower even though it isn't. It completes the bottom of my golf IMO. I have pics of my car in my sig with only the fronts on, this summer I'm going to take new pics.
I am still debating if I should get them. It's been the hardest decision I had to make regarding my car (as strange as it sounds). I have now made up my mind ! I will get them ! ... well, as soon as the car gets her coilovers tat is, I want to see first hand how low they will be.

I have the VW mudflaps on my car, but I will be taking them off soon. My sister recently took them off her Passat, and the paint was scratched to hell under them. Dirt collects under them and the flaps rub. Be careful! I think I am going to take them off in the spring and summer, and put them on in the winter from now on.
i've also got the Votex VW mudflaps. they have the emblem on them. when i was buying my car in Queens, NY - one of the salesmen had a GTi in front of the dealership with mille miglia evo's, painted valences, and painted mudflaps. the look was really cool - i'm painting mine by the end of next week, along with my front bumper and both valences. mudflaps are very functional.
