Multimode DCC and Adaptive Chassis Control?

I got the SE, sometimes wish I got the Autobahn. Of course, the Autobahn and 40th have the Multimode DCC and Adaptive Chassis Control feature. I don't run my GTI fast and hard like many here might. I don't drive mine like a pure commuter only vehicle either. I drive fairly sedate, but a bit harder than a purely commuter vehicle. Would I have felt any difference or change if I had the Multimode DCC and Adaptive Chassis Control? Maybe it would have been wasted on me because I do not drive hard.

There is a very notable ride difference between the settings. I haven't driven a non DCC Mk8 GTI yet, so I don't know how it feels like bone stock. I'm like you, I don't drive the car hard, but I still like to leave the DCC in the sport setting (I haven't even tried the more aggressive settings yet) even around town. The normal/comfort setting is too soft for my liking even around town. Same when I had my Mk7 R - DCC was always left in sport mode. Had I picked up a non-DCC GTI and found its too soft, I'd just drop it with lowering springs and then the ride would be more suitable to my liking.

And just for ease of acronyms - Dynamic Chassis Control is DCC. Adaptive Cruise Control is ACC. They are unrelated in function.

Thanks. That is odd and has been confusing. The VW site always lists DCC and ACC together and calls "ACC" "Adaptive Chassis Control". I copied and pasted the title right from the VW site.

Autobahn description:

  • Ventilated front seats

  • Light Assist (High Beam Control for headlights)
  • Head-Up Display (HUD) for driver
  • Leather seating surfaces
