Hey, I have a "find" that is just waiting for someone. 1.8 16V block. $50, with all internals. 170K miles on it. It isn't a 2.0 but it might be good for someone who wants to experiment with a turbo. It is also much cleaner than the one in the above pic.
i had some great finds today as well! my friends ditched on going to the yard with me but i went by myself. after 4 hours of scavenging the vw yard I got full leather door and rear panels for the gti, a new handle which works great, scirocco leather seats, gauge pieces and some hazard and fog switches, and a thermo swtich, volt gauge all for $85 beans
P.S. If anyone wants a full set of good condition scirocco leathers with cloth in the middle let me know I can get a couple pair
guys.. you are nuts about not getting a good deal.. A decent 2.0 bottom end here in cali goes for about 3 to 5 hundred EASY... good score.. and usually passats are automatics and the motors are in great condtion.
hey athens, i met you at the ohiovw gtg in june, i have a while jetta 15" corrado wheels kinda low grey corrado seats, you still have that block? email me [email protected] i would like to ask chu some questionsif thats cool
paul
I hate you!!! i have been looking for a good winter/ project car for a while now... that is just a steal if it runs.... I wish I could find a road worthy car for under $200.....
sweet deal on the motor too... the local u-pull-it place by me had a 16v passat in that i found (after it was totally stripped of course) and they only charge like $100 for a entire motor.... I pretty much cried when I saw it all stripped and thought of "what i coulda had"
