Here's my pride and joy. It's a '90 with about 174k miles on it, original engine, tranny, and even clutch (the turbo I upgraded, but was still working). Just curious to see if it's something that appeals to VW owners.

more pics are here: http://jtoronto.home.mindspring.com/626atpark/

Re: My baby (anarchyx34)

I always liked that 5-door body style on the 626, and it's nice to see it's making a comeback with the new Mazda 6. It looks in amazing condition for 170k miles (is that a modified suspension?). http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: My baby (FatSean)

Well. my friend has a chipped golf 1.8t, when we race, it's usually even to about 70mph, then I start to walk him. This car's power at high speeds is sensational. I managed 0-60 in 6.4 seconds with my g-tech pro, which is pretty good considering I need to shift to 3rd to hit 60. Thanks for the compliments guys.

Re: My baby (Prostrho)

Love it! I have a thing for earlier japanese cars that have a turbo stuck on them. That 626 is a great example...so clean and understated, no one would expect it to be as fast as it is. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif I love sleepers. Great color too. Maybe it doesn't show up well in the pics, but the paint looks like its in incredible condition for a 174k car.

Re: My baby (anarchyx34)

I had an '88 626 turbo sedan. Same engine & tranny and a little lighter. Those cars haul ass .I was actually looking to get the 5 door but couldnt find one at the time.
FatSean - I went up against a BMW 325 on the hwy once . Went from 60-120 and blew the b'mer by several car lenghts. Atfer 125 the car runs out of steam .

Sold mine with 225k on the clock.

Yes.... just imagine it running 14psi, with well over 200ft-lbs to the wheels. Gotta hang on pretty tight
. One day I'll have a LSD.

Lies, damned lies I say

All I can say to defend myself is, I should have raced him BEFORE the new turbo went in.
Anyway, yeah, it looks as good in person as it does in pics, interior also. I still can't believe its got 174k miles on it. It goes fast, and handles really well. Definetly a car I would look at if I was ever shopping used.

Re: My baby (MJGunn)

I think it's time for you to upgrade your turbo too Mike. Cuz one day I'll get the j-spec engine, and then...muuuuahahahahah....

Did Kenny ever show you the video from Myrtle? If not... http://www.mx6resource.com/Files/anarchyx34/fe3ride.avi
gotta "right click ---> save target as" for some reason. This is the little ride we took in someone's insane j-spec motored mx-6, with a huge T66 turbo, and intercooler attached. He was only running 10psi, but he runs 24 at the track.
