A friend of mine from Texas just sent me this picture of his 2001 Corvette. He went out with his wife about two weeks ago in the car, valet parked it at the resturant where they were going to have dinner. When he came out of the resturante about an hour later, the valet people could not "find" his car....the cops found his car on Monday...here is how they found it....
The car was stolen from the "secure" valet parking garage. The valet service parks the car, and leaves the key in the ingnition, so when they come to return the car, the keys are right there...poor car!!!! I asked him "Why did you valet it, why did you not park it yourself?" He replied that "We drove around for 20 min looking for a space ourselves, our reservations were for 7:30 and we were getting late, so we decided just to use the resturant valet service....big mistake" He also told me that the company that does the valet service for the resturant, has insurance for this kind of thing, but he was unsure how long that process would take!!!
