my car is possesed i think i need a priest

i would apreaciate if someone could shed some light on why me 1992 cabrio is acting worse then my 1970 beetle

hears what happens when i first start the car in the morning it fights me once it starts and stays started it idles around 500rpm for about a minute then it rises up to where its suposed to be
next i try to drive and the rpm's jump around the car jerks untill its fully warm
then while im driving at a constant speed and rpm the car will ocasionaly jerk this dosent seem to be affected by what rpm im running at
i have tried changing the sparkplugs, cap, rotor,air filter,i also changed the timeing belt 7 months ago well before this started happening, and im checking the timeing tonight

fuel pressure, i think. i kinda have similar problems but not as bad as yours. once it warms up it runs fine.
spoken to a few people on here and im sure that i have a pressure leak somewhere (not sure where, tho). perhaps you can get out the bentley and runa fuel pressure test?

if it was fuel was low would it feel like it has a rev limiter on it?

im sure that many people on here can give you a more deffinative answer but in my miniscule experience fuel pressure is indeed going to give problems similar to the ones youre having. in terms of the rev-limiter effect, i guess so because you would have to press down harder than normal.

or two so not sure if im making sense. anyway, i would run a bottle of prestone fule system cleaner ($8 from autozone) to see if that has an effect. maybe after that you gotta look at pumps and lines. can somebody else add to this?
