[Intolerance]

I finally got around to graphing out my mileage. I've had this stack of reciepts growing for the last 5-6 months.

This is my 1.5L '79 2 door 4 speed manual Diesel Rabbit. I know its super low for the potential for this car (40-50mpg). The motor needs some serious TLC, but hey, its better mileage then most of the cars on the road can get.
I will be taking it in soon to get tuned up and get the head gasket replaced.

I think the problem is you're putting gas in a diesel.

Hard to believe, when you only have 86k on your bunny

you're only getting just above 30 mpg. Are you a fast driver? constanting accerlating and braking? Have your injectors looked at.

city or highway? high speed? dragging brake pad /shoe? low air pressure in tires? leaking injectors?

the problem is that its running way rich. its smoking a lot under any kind of accelleration.
the odometer only reads up to 99,999.9 miles, I am sure its got more then 86k on the block. I know for a fact it has bad rings/cylinders because when I first got it running, it was getting terrible blow by, but i updated the breather hose to route the oil back into the block and it runs better now.
