Man, I think the cable in my cabriolet front seats that connects the lever to the mechanism that lets the seat flip forward is broken - it's a drag.
How easy is it to fix the cable?

YOu should be able to find a cable at a pick and pull yard. They are not very difficult to replace. I have not done it in a while, but it should be really obvious if you remove the seat cover.

Re: My front seats won't flip forward! (Yellow Rabbit)

I have the same problem on my GTI. Only on the drivers side though. Anyone who wants in the back goes through the passengers side to save embarrassment(ha ha). Thanks for bringing this up.

Heres a quick temp fix.
Tie a string to the lever. Loop it up around the front of the head rest and tie it off down at the other piviot point. Now just grab the string between the head rest ( must be up alittle) and pull.
I used some yellow nylon string. The stuff they use for laying out construction sites.
Its been temp for over 3 years now.
