..I have a 96 GTI VR6..I was warming up my car last night and i turn it off to go get something in the house, and when i try to turn it back on 1 min. later The key wont turn. I know that it wont turn when the steering wheel is lock, but this time it wasnt. After an hour of messing with it..i finally got it turn on, but when i take the key out..it locks again..any ideas and solution to this is greatly appreciated..i froze ma ass off last night..

Anyone who went thru fixing it?
I'm just afraid that I have to mess up with the airbag to be able to remove the whole wheel assembly and getting to the ignition lock cyl.
