Coming from a NB 1.8t and an A4 1.8t quattro, I'd have to say this car is awesome. The power delivery from the R32 compared to the other 2 cars is night and day. No turbo lag is very nice. I had to get used to the torque when shifting because it can make for a very jerky ride. Seems if you pause a half second after shifting and before accelerating it becomes a much smoother ride. But who wants that
The short throw gearbox is defintely the nicest VW has ever made. The everyday handing is superb. It can get nose heavy under serious driving. I had a chance to drive it the rain on the Valentine's Day. I tried testing the Haldex with a couple of hard launches. I have to say I wasn't used to the minor slipping of the front tires. I'm used to no slippage with the Audi. Under dry conditions it's definitely harder to chirp the tires unless you really rev it up and drop the clutch. The interior is beautiful and put together nicely. It's much better than my NB and about as good as the A4. The Monsoon system is ok. I actually like the Climatronic system. I wasn't sure because the A4's AC unit is similar but sometimes wants to do its own thing
The seats are superb. It really holds you in there. Wider guys may not feel as comfortable. From pics I've seen here of the cloth seats make it look gray, but it's more charcoal and looks great. I thought the sport steering wheel in the A4 was great, but the R32's steering wheel improves upon it. Pretty much same design but appears to be smaller and definitely wider. Overall a wonderful machine. I already have all my exterior mods done so I'm good until performance mods start filtering in
