Re: My Next Car (Hoffa's Jetta)

got up close with an Evo this weekend andits grown on me a bit. I really like dubs but if I were to buy a new car I would be looking for a performance based platform. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: My Next Car (Demon_Dub)

I would have to go with the STI, it's the only car I have thought about trading my Jetta in for. It looks so much hotter than the EVO, somthing about that stock wing that makes me sick.

Damn, I am officially old and I'm not even 30. The styling on the Evo, RX8,
and STI are just awful to me. But it is obviously attractive to the 20-25
year olds. They must be doing something right.
Even the 20AE doesn't strike me as very attractive especially not at the
markup I'm seeing locally. Although a euro front bumper and 4-motion exhaust helps it a lot.
At those price points I'd be shopping a G35s6 or year-old 330i with full
maintenance. Then again, I'm a boring old fart apparently.

I certainly love looking at Ferraris. But if you put 5K miles on one per year,
it will fall apart. Besides I can drive this daily for half the price of a 575M.

BTW: I voted for the Evo since I think it'd be the best performance platform
of the three while not looking like total ass like the STI.

I'm with DasRaven on the G35 coupe. Or if you want to save a few bucks get the Nissan 350Z - 280+ HP stock isn't too shabby and it's way better looking than the STi, and it's not a Subaru (I have a personal thing against Subaru
)
For now I'll vote for the GTI because it's still a DUB!

I voted RX8, I really like tha styling, power, and I'm intrigued by the rotary. 260hp, 1.3liters naturally aspirated
.
I hope to own one not know but maybe 5 years from now.

Re: My Next Car (Hoffa's Jetta)

I love VW's more than anything, but a stock 300hp AWD turbo sounds pretty good. from road&track: STI [email protected], EVO [email protected] both of these cars are really fast, and almost identical in specs as far as speed and handling (both .88g, STi in slalom: 68.4, EVO in slalom: 68.9), I personally like the way the STI looks compared to the EVO, but that is just me.
and then i saw X-MEN II, and that RX-8 looks soooo hot.
then again, there is the DUB, plain and simple, it just rocks.
good luck with your descion,
Max

Re: My Next Car (Robert Paulson)

why would you want the STi once you get AWD you'll hate it, launching at 6 grand would not be fun at all,

Re: My Next Car (Robert Paulson)

where do I cast my vote for the Factory Five Coupe Ford 65 GTO replica ?
"The phrase 'eye-ball sucking performance' is a tired, overused metaphor, but it should have been saved for the FFR Coupe. Galloping to 60 mph takes only 3.6 seconds. Bye-bye, Porsche 911 Turbo! The quarter mile passes in only 11.9 seconds at 119 mph, faster than a Dodge Viper GTS."
