since you are being respectfull, i will as well....
i starting in first about the military thing. being a vet myself, and knowing how the military works, i figured he would get the joke.
i didnt consider that he was a local hawaiian. he then takes it as a knock against him being hawaiian, which it wasnt, it was about him being in the military and driving that car around with his military stickers in the window.
again, he didnt take it that way and decided to start knocking on me, for not being hawaiian and started talking crap about mainlanders and what not.
well, since this is the mk4 forums, i figured i would get in my parting shots before it gets locked.
and unless you are an islander or were stationed in the military in Hawaii, we dont expect you to understand...
but here is a quick run down....
hawaiians are mad because they think we (all american military personel) took their island away from them back in the 50's.
american soldiers dislike the islanders because all they want to do is pick fights with us, talk shiiit to us, and generally give us a hard time whenever we are out in the public.
i personally was involved in 2 seperate fights in hawaii with locals. NEITHER time did i say or do anything to provoke the issue. im just trying to get on the f'n bus to get a ride back to base, sitting at the bus stop and minding my own business.
i was jumped once by 3-4 fat islanders, and the other time 1 local decided he just wanted to be a dick to someone in the military and it just happened to be me. well, when i started to defend myself, 2 other locals decided to add in to the pleasure.
i have spent more time in the hospital from the dumbass locals than my wife did after having child birth (for you youngsters, a standarded stay is 5 days for natural birth, 7-12 days for c section).

and you cant do shiiiit in the military at age 16, as far as I knew you couldn't even join till 17 with parental consent, so obviously at 16 you aint doin nothing, if thats even possible, so don't pretend like you are some badass by saying you were in the army at 16, you weren't over in iraq you werent fightin wars, quit tryin to attempt to 'showoff'.

yea, i got all of my info from Magnum PI too.
i guess the 3 years i was stationed there wasnt real. or the 4 times i have been back since then.
i guess that flesh eating issue from the sewage in the water wasnt real when i was there a couple times ago either?????

you cannot be active duty and 16yrs old.
period.
you can enlist at 16, which im sure you did. and then at that point you have basically 3 options...
stay in the "inactive reserve" until your 18
do your 1 weekend and 2 weeks in the summer (weather its called the national gaurd or not, its not different), then when you turn 18 you would be ETS'd and get orders to report to your new unit.
join the jrotc or rotc program in your school, then when your done, you start serving your time.
there is no way at 16yrs old, you were getting up at 5am everyday, doing PT, then doing training until 1800hrs. then living in the barracks and eating chow hall food.
every single day? doubt it.
