same problem happened to me except the regulator was pushin 2 bills directly from volkswagen. went to a junkyard and scored one for 20 bucks. Its not the easiest thing you'lll encounter doing to your vdub thats for sure but not the hardest. Regulators in mark3 gtis and jetta are a common thing that goes wrong. just like dash lights going out and sunroofs coming off tracks
good luck man! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
You can find one used for easily under $80. I bought mine for $40. Once you take the door panel off, just compare you regulator to what the installed one looks like. It's pretty simple to install. I'd give it a 3 or of 10 for difficulty. good luck http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
I just put 2 new ones in my car the other day. I got mine off ebay, new and OEM parts, i think they were $50 and $60, i needed a front and rear. Back took like 25 min to change and fron was like 35 min, both were easy. I called the VW dealership when mine broke and they said they won't replace them for no charge unless your car is 98 or newer and they wanted $400 to replace 1 ! Forget that.
