Can anyone enlighten me as to what role Daihatsu plays for Toyota? Is it their economy brand, like Skoda is for VW? Is it their foreign brand that doesn't sell in japan, like Vauxhall is to GM?
C'mon, everyone knows that's a Yawnmobile deluxe. The small wheels are for low rolling resistance. That combined with the sleek shape ensures that your sleep and the sleep of your loved ones will not be disturbed. It's an insomniac's dream!
Just kidding. It's quite obviously a Ford GT40. Mark III. I used to race them professionally so I should know. I guess the aftermarket mirrors threw you guys off.
P.S. As far as I know, Daihatsu is entirely unrelated to Toyota. They are just a cheap car brand that makes tiny little city cars in Japan and licenses them for sale in third world countries. (although I don't know how credible I am after the above comments
Daihatsu is actually owned by Toyota, which has at least 1/3 of shares in Daihatsu. As such, Toyota controls Daihatsu and some Daihatsu products do show some Toyota influence. No platform-sharing yet, but some Daihatsu products are rebadged as Toyotas and vice versa. Daihatsu has come into its own recently, though, some of their current products show promise.
