NB 2001 problems...trans, now dash frozen

Hi everyone! I'm new here but needed a place to ask other owners questions. First my transmission died at the 1 yr mark (had to put a new one in, said it wasn't how it was driven) and now all my dash needles froze (at the 1.5 yr mark), they had to put a new one in. Anyone else had problems like this?? What's going to happen when the 2 yr warranty runs out? I heard from the dealer that the 15,000 mi service isn't free.....is that also true? It won't be 2 yrs yet. Thanks much.

If you have the 1.8T, your 15,000 mile service b*is* free. AFAIK, all other other engines are not covered. For instance my VR6 has service intervals at 5k, 10k, 20k, 30k, 40k, and every 10k beyond that. So the 15k wasn't free (I still paid to get the oil changed though).
