Need grippy pedals

538 Views 8 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  ABT_VR6
Hey
When my shoes are wet, on more than one occasion, my left foot has slid off the clutch. Luckily it hasn't been at a bad time, but I'm a little afraid that it'll happen when I'm trying to make a left turn or something like that. Sooo, any suggestions for "grippy" pedals? I've been looking at the Sparco Grip pedals
but I heard elsewhere that the little black grip dots fall out easily. I'm not a big fan of the TT pedals nor am I a "serious" driver that needs heel/toe access. I just drive and don't want my feet to slip! Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Gwon

Re: Need grippy pedals (lildrgn)

i'm in the same situation, stock pedals suck, and the crappy "sport pedals" from pep boys arent any better, they dont fit well. from what i understand, sparco look like some of the better ones, but i'm wondering if the momo and the TT pedals are any good

you could try different shoes...my favourite shoes in the world for driving are Adidas Samba indoor soccer shoes. mmGrip

Hmmm. Good point. The shoes I wear 95% of the time are about 2 y.o. Timberlands with very worn soles. I'll try some sneaks soon!

i read somewhere that the neuspeed ones are REALLY grippy... not sure where though..

they (like the sparco's) require drilling..

Okay, I'm plugging the 25 yr. pedal group buy here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=232898
As to the Sparcos....I think they look great, but they require drilling....which is something I don't want to do for a pedal mod. So, I decided on the next best thing, the 25yr. pedals......the dead pedal of which can be gotten for cheap here:

lol! schweet! we need 4 more ppl to buy the dead pedal for the GB.....glad I hooked someone. I've not seen the dead pedal for that cheap, and believe me I looked!
The other pedals retail for about $40.USD, though if you scour or wait for another GB, you will be able to get them for approx $30.USD.
Good luck!

This is the one I got on my car. I don't have any slipping problems. Simalar to the Sparco. Also the rubber dots on the sparco pedals do fall out very easy. My friend has it on his A4.
