Hey MK3 people I'm crossing over from the MK4 forum for your expert advice.
My sister is looking to buy a car. We found a 1995 MK3 white Golf automatic with 90,000 miles. Sold by the original owner for $5,200. Car is in perfect condition, very well kept, with no rust or body damage.
I'm assuming this car would have the 2.0L engine, since I believe only the GTI comes with the VR6. How would it compare to a 2.0L in the MK4? I drove one and thought it was very slow, however reliable, which is what counts for my sister.
I checked Edmunds to compare fair market price and 5,200 seems a bit high. Is this a fair price? I haven't seen the car yet, I will after work today. Is there anything I should look for when evaluating the vehiele besides the obvious?
Thanks for your help..
