I am no stranger to searching and research. To do this, I need to know how and what to search for.
I am planning a 1.8T swap. The bolting together and fitting of parts is very well covered, and I have come to know the lingo.
The issues I have ran into is the electronics of the swap. I am not scared of it knowing that research and prep are 95% of the battle.
What search terms/words do I use, or what web sites have good info to help me learn?

I have found a '99 Passat 1.8T with a cooked motor and a good 5 speed. Cheap. Is this a good start for a 1.8T swap? Can I use a 1.8T out of a different year and model of car, or is it an AEB only?
I have read that the wiring/ECU are the most simple/easiest to wire. Can I source a different year model 1.8T for this wiring/ECU?
