Need help with aftermarket computer chip questions

NEED HELP WITH COMPUTER CHIP QUESTIONS!!!!

I'm a student trying to finish a capstone paper that is required for my b.s., and my topic was a look into the programming of computer chips in cars. I have found only so much information, so I thought I would check to see if there were any computer nuts out there. I'm looking for really technical information, like the nitty-gritty of what goes on within the chip (code, programming, etc.) Also, I need to know soon!
