Need help with fuses.....Bentley people

460 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  dkrstic79
Yeah, I have the Bentley, on CD-Rom, and my Rom shot itself this afternoon, so until I get a new one, I'm out of luck. So here's what I need. First, what's the fuse for the radio head unit? Next, what does fuse 28 do? What about fuse 35? Is there a way of pulling a fuse and setting you check engine light off into a tizzy? Oh, and what makes your lights come on when you pull your key out? Yes, this all happened tonight!

Re: Need help with fuses.....Bentley people (Red_MkIV)

according to bentley:
fuse 42 is the radio system
fuse 28 is the fuel pump, gasoline
if one were to set the CEL, i would think it's 28.
for the other one, not sure which fuse it is. Here's a list though:
14: Interior Lights, Central Locking System
38: Central Locking System (with power windows), luggage compartment light
remote fuel tank dorr, read lid unlock
hope that helps.

If you do anything with the battery connected, you could get a code on the ecu. I swapped headlight switches and got some wierd codes. A low battery can cause some wierd stuff too. Looks like the fuses are 37 and 42 for the radio. Looks like the fuel pump uses fuse 28 on a 2.0l as far as the light comning on with key out, You can turn this off with a VAG-com.

Why would you want to do that it's illegal.

Re: Need help with fuses.....Bentley people (dkrstic79)

Speedometer is fuse 7, not Odometer. Pull that fuse and you won't know how fast you're going.
Re: Need help with fuses.....Bentley people (keoni004)

I never said I want to pull it out, I was just asking ..., and I did pull it out just to test it, and it controls odometar too. My miles stop rolling, so it controls odometar too.
