Ok, so I want to put a six speed in my car (it's the base model, 2.0L) but I wouldn't have any idea if I could put one in even, or if I should just look into buying a new car. And a turbo would be nice. Does anyone know if I can put a six speed in with the stock engine? Or can I swap out my engine for a 1.8T or a VR6 with a six speed? I need help deciding if I should sell my car. or put a six speed in it.

Take a step back for a second.
You are discussing drivetrain swaps in a car that costs about $3000. Sell it and buy a car that has what you want. Ask the mark IV if you don't believe me.

Sell you car and buy one more like you want.
All the money you would spend doing a drivetrain swap on your car would be wasted as the car would not be worth a penny more.
Actually, it might even be worth less.

As you can tell, I am not very savvy on Jettas. This is my first Jetta that I have owned, I owned a BMW before it. And I love this car a lot, but I don't exactly have the funds to buy a new car. I could get (God willing and the creek doesn't rise) 4K for my car. And I want a GLI 1.8T or the VR6.
