Hi everyone, sorry for such urgency but my car is taken apart and I need to install my stereo tonight. Here is the deal, I have a MKIV (02 GTI) with Monsoon and I am installing the JVC MP3 player (KD-SH99). Anyway, how do I connect the monsoon amp to this? The only pre-amp outputs the deck has is RCA cables. How do I connect them to the monsoon cables in the dash? Does anyone have a tutorial or a how-to on this? I know people have done it. I hope this isn't a retarded question. Thanks for your help. I will be here waiting for your answers!!
UPDATE: I am a big fat moron. I have installed several stereos fo rmyself and siblings and friends, so I should have known better then to get confused so easily by these extra bundle of wires. They are for the cd changer, not for the monsoon. The speaker outputs go directly to the monsoon, all I had to do was hook up the speaker wires with the correct wiring harness and viola - installation was complete (after the dimmer, power, remote, etc)!! I just wanted to give a quick update to those who helped me last night. Thanks for your help. Now you can all let this thread die so it doesn't go to the top so I'm not embarassed over and over again. Thanks.

Re: need IMMEDIATE help with radio install in MKIV. please? (MrFrostie)

Okay I'm not 100% sure but I heard that the our cars have speaker level inputs for the Monsoon. You don't need RCA cables. So when you wire up stereo to the wiring harness, the Monsoon Amp works in conjuction w/ the stock HU's power. I think, check w/ the Car Audio forum to make sure. This is the way my setup is hooked up and it plays loud.

As far as I know, you are correct. HOWEVER, I don't have a stock HU anymore, so I don't have anywhere to connect the extra 9 or so wires that look like they go to the amp. All I have is RCA pre-outs. How do I convert these RCAs to the line inputs??

Hey Mr Frostie, heres what you do, I know you want to get this done today but it may not be possible without hacking the job or a small, and very expensive electrical fire! Call Crutchfield, I think they tech people 24 hours a day or try http://www.crutchfield.com. they can sell you a very inexpensive interconnector, its a no brainer install with this.just get it mailed overnight. It worked for me.

I believe those 9 wires you are referring to are not for the Monsoon Amp but rather for the CD changer controls. Check w/ our Car Audio Forum, gotta a lot of cool peeps that know lot's more bout car audio
