Re: Need new Scirocco 1 Windshield, any suggestions (JKnowledge)

good luck....i tried finding one in the pacific northwest and not a single glass shop could get one for me in under 2 weeks, i ended up finally finding one in the smallest mom and pop wrecking yard about an hour from my house for about 250$ less then i was quoted by the glass shops....go figure

Re: Need new Scirocco 1 Windshield, any suggestions (vento III)

I don't think there are many left.

I went to a large automotive glass place out here in CA and the guy took a couple weeks to find me a new windshield. It had to be shipped FROM CHICAGO

I think it was $350 installed.
Since Cosmos is in such good condition and I plan on a fresh coat of paint and a partial restore.....$350 was worth it

The wrecking yards might be a good alternative.
Oh, and Mars has a nice crack across most of the windshield (pass side) that will probably be there for a couple more years.

here in Downtown LA there is a plethora of places with them. I bought one last year for $125 installed (doesent leak either!) It helps to take a spanish speaker with you

If it didnt require so much time and effort I would hook you all up! But if your up for a road trip..ill point you in the right direction!

Thanks ya'll, I found one in a West Virginia junkyard. Prices are great there too, $65 for them to pull it out. Already have an apointment to get it put in, too. Thanks again for the help.
