I dunno man, that car is sweet, is there any way you can just sit on it until the right buyer comes along, and maybe take out a loan in the mean time for the money you need?
If I was in the market for an $8k used car, thats the one I would want, but I just bought a GLI for $3200 and $8k is just not in the same price bracket.
I am thinking even a ridiculous loan interest rate like 12% would be fine, you would only be paying $80 a month on interest, but it might be worth it cause you'll be able to sell the car for $8000 instead of $7000.
Otherwise, you need to hit all the VW car shows. Some rich guy who just wrecked his S4 might want it...

Good luck.
PS so sad to see so many bad-ass mk2 VR6s on the classifieds. I think I saw 3-4 in the last few months in the $7-10k range...

Have you tried ALL the web classifieds? Put your ads up everywhere, even sites like nudespeed .com have classifieds. Also have you tried autotrader.com.
I hope you don't have to part it,that would be a shame.Your car isn't really to my taste, but it's badass anyway. Parting a car is pretty much a pain, but the upside is you can make more $. The downside is it's money over time. another downer is it sucks tryin' to pimp parts over the net.

Re: need some advice on selling a a2 vr6 jetta coupe (turbo gvtri6)

that car is awesome, the thing about it is you are going to have to find the right person to buy it, most people would think someone was an idiot for buying an 85 jetta for 10k, i think its a good deal, but im not in the market. i know and everyone on this sight knows that it would take close to 20k to build that car. selling a modded car is tough especially when you have so much into it, if you had to part it out that would be a shame, someone out there will buy it eventually for what you are asking, but if you need the money, you need the money, and parting out might have to happen. good luck man,

I feel for ya man....I bought a corrado in november of 00 for 11,000, sold it in july for 7500...after 1,000's of repairs...putting rims on it...etc...etc...I contemplated "making it disappear" and then doing a swap into my 16V....but...I was worried about the consequences...plus it had lojack and I didn't know where it was located...although that wouldn't have been a big thing to find out....I also contemplated having someone/myself take it for a nice ride through the twisties and "lose control" I know this is illegal but...it is an option...you could "take it for a ride" get the insurance money...buy it back...then part it out..although I don't know what you have it insured as..if it's insured as a regular jetta this isn't a good option...it sucks man...and I think it's just a bad time to be selling a car...with the 0% interest rates and stuff no 1 wants a used car...good luck...and we'll keep it bumped for ya

Nice car. We all want it http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif, we just can't afford it.

Keep pushing the sell at a slightly lower price. I know you have some loot tied up in her.
If you can't lower the price (understandable), hack her up. You almost always get more for 'em in pieces.
