how have you guys fared at the dealer with your modded 1.8T's? what mods can a guy get away with and not have the dealer void his warranty? i am looking a exhaust, prolly TT or LLTEK. i would like to put a larger downpipe in as well but am not sure...... what kind of gains are you guys getting with the bigger downpipe? and what about a GAIC chip can the dealer's computer see that this is installed in my ECU

by the way this is my first Audi, and i LOVE it!!! we ended up getting it after a drunk driver ran through our neighborhood at 60 + MPH passed out at the wheel, ran a stop sign and hit my parked 97 golf 2.0 8v Turbo

so think about this story the next time you THINK your okay to drive

so am i left to believe that no one here has ever haad any warranty issues with the dealer regarding aftermarket????

it all depends on your dealer.. some are mod-friendly, others use it as an excuse to charge you for service.. ask around about your dealer, or just casually ask the service guys there some 'what if' questions.. act as if you heard about those mods and want to know if they think they're worth doing.. their attitude would tell you if they would void your warranty for it
keep in mind that the warranty is never fully voided, tho.. the dealer can only make an issue with your warranty if they can 'prove' that your mods were the cause of the failure in question.. unfortunately, they are considered the experts and what they say generally is considered 'fact' by Audi.. but you could still take the car to a different dealer and try to have the warranty coverage done by them if you were denied elsewhere
