I think he's asking where to get an actual spark plug remover socket. Just go down to any auto parts store and ask for a deep-socket spark plug remover. You can even find them with a rubber center as to not damage the plug!

, i read it wrong...yeah, i jsut got a 10" extension from ACE hardware and the regular spark plug socket. my bad guys

i'd rather spend the money on tools and the plugs. it doesn't take that long and you get to be a little closer to your car.

oem ngk plugs...i dont knwo if its still teh BKR5EKU plug. i use the regular ones, not the platinum ones. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Need some tools! (VR6roar)

I just bought the Bosch platnum^2's, some factory plug wires (they're the best I hear) and did the whole shoot-n-match in about an hour. Used my bud's spark plug remover and torque wrench. I wouldn't take it to the dealer, but I have my own opinions on dealers in Wa..........
Save the $70 man, do it yerself http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Need some tools! (StingerKod)

spark plug socket (probably 5/8") 3/8" drive
10" extension 3/8" drive
rachet wrench 3/8" drive
torque wrench 3/8" drive
spark plug wire removal tool (this is the most important item; if you pull on the wires by hand, you WILL break them!)
(I recommend 3/8" drive because the extension will be skinnier; 1/2" might be too thick.)
Re: Need some tools! (JettaRed)

where can I get this spark plug removal tool??? any auto shop or VW has their own???
Re: Need some tools! (StingerKod)

hold on hold on hold on!!!!..from your post you drive a 99.5..so you have the new VR6 right? anyway. there should be loops on the top of the plug wires. use a screwdriver to pop up the loop..then pull.. each wire has a built in puller..YOU DONT NEED A TOOL if this is the case.
