Help me pick a chip...so far I'm leaning towards GIAC.....most HP and TQ....2nd Upsolute.....don't like them as much cause they are in Europe.....
Need VR6 Power Boost - What chip is best???

This poor subject has been beat to hell already. Too bad the search button doesnt work.
There was a thread awhile back that showed the GIAC made just a little more power. But that doenst mean the UP chip sux.
Who cares... get the one thats the nearest to ya. Overall, i believe the UP chip is cheaper.

i don't know what else you plan on doing to your car, but giac has upgraded programs if you do stuff to your car......specifically, cams. i like this feature a lot and think i will go giac. this is not the only reason, but a big because i would like to put cams in this summer.

Well, I am bias but I like UPsolute chip. I have it on my GTi VR6 and I will have it again on my 2002 GTi 1.8t.

Well, I am bias but I like UPsolute chip. I have it on my GTi VR6 and I will have it again on my 2002 GTi 1.8t.

I wanted GIAC in my VR6 , but the closest dealer was in PES Tuning in PA. It was 80miles away http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif and the price was about 50$$ more(if I remember correctly) http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif Anyway I decided that the additional cost of travel and of the chip plus install wasnt worth it for me. I got in touch with John A from upsolute in NJ , ( 35-40 miles away) and got chipped a few days later http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif I have never been happier. As anyone will tell you the VR6 chip isnt too drastic but you can feel the difference in every gear and the DBW trrottle lag is greatly reduced. The car feels like it isnt being held back anymore http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Well I guess what I am getting at is what was mentioned above. Go with whoever is closer to you(customer service purposes). You wont be disapointed with either chip, both put out the same power.
