Need your opinion please. =)

My friend is going to buy a used 2001 2.0 2 Door Golf:
- 61,000km
- lowered with Eibach sport springs
- neuspeed front strut bar
- rear sway
- 17" long beaches mounted with Michlen Pilot Sport w/50% tread left
- beige interior
- 5spd manuel
- 1 rust spot on a chip mark at the top of the roof
- CEL was lighted on (owner says the car hasn't been driven for 1 month so it could be a MAF)
- NO WARRENTY
- 16" winter rims w/tires . good for another 2 seasons
Does this accumulate to $16,500? or can i get a better deal out there? does anyone have a car to match this price thats better ?

Sounds like a good deal to me
but you may want to have it looked at.. the CEL could be something big
wouldn't want to get any surprises especially with no warranty

i traded in my 2001 VR6 with 31,000km & 5 months of warranty left for $18000 + tax savings.. close to $20700
i have no CEL, no rust, Sunroof, monsoon, leather, heatseat... fully loaded

MANN!!!!!!!!! where were u man!? aw missed out on such a good deal for my friend! DAMIT.. this POS is nothing close to ur car!?..... so MANN you are saying i can find a much better deal out there right?

if i knew.. i would rather sell my car to a fellow vortexer than the dealer... at least i know it will find a good home...

well my friend is looking to spend the same amount.
if you can match what he has at a lower price. perfect
but with 16,500 it seems like our options are pretty much slim to none. MANN if u can find a good car for 16,500 with atleast warrenty it would be greatly apprciiative of u ....... i think we spoke b4 on the phone... aren't you a good friend of Laurence Eng?

just made some calls.. here is what i got... not the best.. but all comes with 2 yr warranty, all certified with emission and safety by VW dealer
2002 GTI 1.8T 5sp Silver exterior, black interior, sunroof with 42,000km
$24,500
2001 Wolfsberg ed Jetta 5sp Blue exterior, blace interior, sunroof, 62,000km
$23,500
2001 Golf 2.0L auto GL ... didn't ask the colour... 70,000km
$17,900
doesn't seem to be better than the deal you found... but at least these come with warranty and no rust...

MANN which dealership is this ?
maybe my friend and I will go check these deals out... we have 2 weeks to decide.. because that guy is gonna fix his CEL and rust spot before we buy his car for 16,500 .
