Re: Neuspeed 28mm Rear Sway Install Instructions on a 337 (dcomiskey)

So, can you actually feel the difference and does it have more understeer or oversteer? The only concern I have about installing the rear sway bar is that it might disrupt the beautiful handling balance of the 337! That is a very pretty sway bar. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Please keep me informed.

Devin, Excellent instructions!!! As this thread will likely fade away at some point in the future, do you have a host you can post this to for future reference? If not, may I suggest http://www.vwmkiv.com/ under the "how2" section. It's not my site, but it always seems to be there and is consistent with the quality you've put together........ http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Dont lie Milo, your only concern is blowing more money on your car when it doesn't work as advertised <cough> APR AND CARBINO </cough>.

Milo and all the other Austin folks, I have the Autotek bars installed (F&R), so if you want to get a sense of the handling with bars (which is monstrous...like a different car) I'll meet up with you at the next GTG and give you a ride. There are some differences in the designs, but same outcome as the Neuspeeds.
BTW, got APR chipped last weekend at QRS... all is well.

DC. Great work! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif I'll be doing this mod real soon. This will be a good resource.
Can anyone chime in on comparo's between the Autotech-hollow vs. Neuspeed? Big or subtle differences?

The Autotech bar is pretty much the same install but instead of the clips, you drill two holes in the rear axle beam (not that hard) and bolt the inner supports to that.
Ride is mucho improved.
Nice write up DC!!!

Re: Neuspeed 28mm Rear Sway Install Instructions on a 337 (TreyS)

Thanks, Trey.
Yeah, you can't really go wrong with any bar. There are subtle differences in each (25 or 28mm, solid/hollow, etc.), but realistically speaking, unless you are into SERIOUS racing, I honestly don't think it matters which one you go with. With my experience, I'd go with the NS in the future, but that wouldn't stop me from recommending ABD or Autotech or whatever. They're all just as good. I specifically got the NS because I have the ability to adjust it (3 settings).

Re: Neuspeed 28mm Rear Sway Install Instructions on a 337 (Chef337)

Get under the car again and lube the two unethane bar holders by the axel, if they wern't alredy lubed. If they get dry and stick while transferring force from one side to another, it will upset the car, and you don't want that while cornering hard!!! Also with this bar it ends right where the coilover adjuster will come through the spring perch when you buy coilovers!! If you put coilovers on you will have to drop the bar so much what it becomes a clearance issue!! The only style rear bar that won't be an issue is a Shine/Obar type.
That said....The bar works well! and too boot it looks kewl too!
