Hey guys,
I just picked up an '84 4000S Quattro as a project car so I can stop beating on my Jetta.
I'm rather pleased with it so far, even though it has its fair share of issues. In addition to some dents, dings, scratches, rust, and a missing front valence (which really completes the look of the car, so it's annoying that I don't have it) there are some mechanical problems I'm hoping someone here can give me some insight to:
-speedometer does not work (bad cable, perhaps?)
-VERY rough idle at startup, and sometimes hard to start (I'm guessing this may be some sort of fueling issue)
-the seatbelt lights never turns off
-the wipers seem really slow (though I've only used them once)
-fuel guage appears to be inaccurate (I filled it up and the guage barely rose over a 1/4 tank)
Any help would be appreciated!
My babies (my damn camera broke, forcing me to resort to my crappy cell phone):
