i just ordered my 02 gti (damn 4-6 weeks) anyways i got it fully loaded w/out the side curtain protection. Will my car still have side airbags that come from the seats and should I wait longer to get the side curtain airbags?

From what i know.... the airbag from the seats are standard.... but then the side curtan coming out from the top of the door is not.!

Well the '02 golf has them standard I know for sure.. go to the site, or look at a sticker.

Well it's easy to find out. If your car has the side airbags (regular side, mounted in the front seats) then on the door side of the seat you will see a little patch there that says AIRBAG on it.
Likewise, with the side curtain airbags, there is a little patch on the a-pillar and on the b-pillar on each side that says AIRBAG on it.

The seat mounted side airbags are standard on all VWs. The side curtain airbags are standard in the US and optional in Canada.
