Personally I think it's better left alone! I'd much rather have the option of collectors plates in 2013! Just think a Collectors plated VR6 Corrado! Id have to get personalized collectors plates.
Yeah coupes that arent the GTI and TT are open cans of worms for VWAG just look at the Corrado sales after the first model year. They plummeted til it strangled the model in 95. The Audi 90 coupe (made around the same time) was even less popular and I'm not sure about it's sales but I assume they were similar to the corrados.
I think you're better off buying a TT or a GTI.
If you really mush have a six cylinder hatch go for the new merc C class hatch it looks like a screamer saw one in a parking lot the other day....mmmm mmmm good!

I think the C-Class compact -- the name given to the C-Class hatches -- is only avaialble with the 4-cylinder engine, abiet a kompressor assisted 2.3 liter unit pushing 185 to 190 hp depending on where you live. Even though I don't see why the 2.4, 2.8 or 3.2 90-deg sixes won't fit, they are not currently being offered. I guess M-B subscribes to the "people buy hatches because they are cheap" school of thought too!

I doubt it, VW's "sporty" money maker is the GTI, I think it would cut into their sales of that too much.
