08' GTI BMP w/ plaid cloth, 6speed, sunroof, 17's, premium sound, ipod

I've had this for three months now and really can't say enough about it. IMO it's the perfect daily b/c it does everything well. Gas mileage(24/30), performance, safety, sound system, lights(HID's), comfort, etc.
I bought a second SLC in Sept. to daily but sold it in Dec. and bought this. Other than looks and rarity the GTI car wins hands down in every other aspect. The 2.0T is nothing like my SC Corrado up top but is almost more fun from 2000 to 3500 rpm with that quick spooling little turbo. Again, great for that daily commute.
Some pics from this weekend. The car was dirty but oh well. A car you love to daily drive is the best way to keep the Corrado preserved

Still not 100% sold on the looks but EVERYTHING else is so good it doesn't really matter. The gas mileage, HID's, 6 speed, interior, and power from 2k to 5.5k make it alot of fun on the street.

they are awesome cars to drive...my only quibble is VW ditching the 18" versions of the wheels you are rocking. Those 17s looks sooo dinky compared to the multi-spoke 17s that came stock on 07s.

The 18" huffs are still available for $750. I didn't wan't them. The car sits a hair higher, they are heavier, tires are more expensive, and an 18" w/ a 40 series tire isnt as comfortable as a 17" w/ a 45 especially in the pothole ridden Northeast.

As for the wheels that came on the 06' and 07's. I think they they are one of the ugliest wheels I've ever seen. I'll take the 17" Denvers over them anyday. Just my opinion http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Gotta disagree. I'm done w/ big wheels. The Corrado is going back to 15's

. Lighter, faster acceleration, more comfortable ride, and different from the norm of huge, heavy wheels that are on everything nowadays.

I run 205/40/17's in the Corrado and I'm basically in Philly. 5 min. from the border. With the roads being so bad and even w/ the Koni coils set full soft it's just too annoying. I'll be running 205/50/15's on Rota Slipstreams. I'll lose about 50 lbs. of rotating weight and have a more comfortable ride.

i have my koni coils set on soft w/15's its not that much of a difference in comfort...atleast not on city streets.

I've driven it on 15's(speedlines) w/ the Konis and it's def. more comfortable. 50 series tire has a decent amount more sidewall than the 40 series. The wheels are also 8 lbs. lighter which means less unsprung weight.
The 205/40/17 's w/ the Koni coils on rough roads make it feel like the car is literally being rattled apart. 205/50/15's and it's bearable.
