I don't care what anybody says: slap some Saturn badges on the Astra range (which presumably will soon include a sedan, a must for the US market) and Vectra and sell them both here as replacements for the ION and L-Series NOW. Please GM, just do it--why wait an entire generation?
The Renault is neat for majorly upping the practicality of the Honda Jazz--a very impressive feat. Unfortunately, it's bad news for VW since, until the Skoda Roomster is ready, they will lack an entry in this fast-growing segment.

There is the VW Caddy (which got reviewed quite well) and Touran.

They´re one class above it. What VW would need to compete is a Polo-based van.
So far that class is only populated by the Opel Meriva and Fiat Idea.

And the Ford Fusion and the Mazda2 and the Toyota Yaris Verso.

Oops, yes of course. Although the Fusion is debatable.

Agreed.
How hard would it be to certify? EURO NCAP and EURO-4 standards can't be that far off from current US regs, can it?
