NEW! HPA DSG UPGRADE via Direct Port at your door step

Alongside the launch of our new STAGE 4 DSG Performance Program, we are pleased to introduce our new NEW loaner tool program; enabling the enthusiast to gain access to the DSG software of their choice no matter how remote their location.

The loaner program will also support HPA’s commitment to the end user in instances where factory DSG recalls have unexpectedly stripped customers’ cars of their upgrade. In these instances, HPA has offered replacement files free of charge, but geographical obstacles have posed a challenge for some to gain access to this support.

Loaner tool program

With the order of your HPA DSG Performance Program, you will have the option to rent our proprietary flashing device. With a credit card security deposit, you pay only the shipping to and from your location.

The flashing device consists of a special OBD II dongle with software to install on your laptop/PC and a USB cable to interface over a USB 2.0 connection.

Easy to follow instructions are included with the tool, so with your software flash pre-paid, you start the simple three step process:

1) Use the tool to read out your factory DSG file
2) Send file via email to our office where the file is edited and then sent back
3) Use the tool to re-flash the HPA Performance Program onto your vehicle

A return waybill is enclosed with the package so all you need to do is drop the parcel off at your local UPS store when you’re done. Once the tool is received back at HPA, the security deposit is released and you are off to the races.

One question for HPA:

How will APR ECU software play with this DSG software?

Also, on another note, I love the turbo deal HPA is offering in another thread...that's still a lot of money---worth it for the performance, IMHO...but, I'm still hoping for a supercharger from HPA...like ABT and VR6 specialists in Europe... Is this something that is possible? never going to happen? or?


I love this idea of shipping the doggle, etc!

Our DSG software works well with the APR engine file.

re: SC-MK5, seeing that Vortech has stopped production on the V9 blower, we will not pursue a MK5 fitment.

The FT425 has filled that gap, it comes at a higher price than a blower solution, but packs a huge lump of bottom end TQ and has an expandable top end. :thumbup:

ok, and thank you for answering both questions...

i also linked my repeat of this same question in your turbo special thread to this response.

That $899 DSG doggle solution is in my future for sure...i love the doggle solution to the initial install and the reflash if the dealership clears it after the mechanotronics install :thumbup:

Can we imagine this to work also for people overseas?
Overseas is a bit more complex and would be best suited for a small group as the back and fourth shipping charges are naturally more expensive than those from within North America.

Feel free to open an email dialog with Nik in our sales department.

I have already used the DSG tool from HPA and its super easy.
If you need to replace your mechatronic unit and re-flash then this is the way to go or if you just want the best software for the DSG then here is your setup. Ask around, this software is the best for the DSG.
I have the 3R with 5200 rpm launch and yes its sweet.
I have done a bunch of work to my R and when i got the new mech unit and HPA DSG flash I can honestly say my car drives better than it ever has. Enjoy the software anyone anywhere in the U.S.:cool:

I am waiting until the mechatronic recall is official in the fall and then after my mech unit is replaced, I will think about getting the DSG upgrade via renting the porting tool/dongle.


Now, for you Marcel, can we do the engine file this way along with the DSG upgrade? That's the ticket.

Something makes me think business will be booming for DSG tuning after mechatronic recall/replacement and then as more folks reach the end of warranty time, and tha engine chipping will also be more common.

Once again, thanks for being innovative in getting your software out of The Great White North!:cool::beer::beer:

Of course, if an opportinity arises at H2O International in Ocean City, MD, Sept 25-26 2010, that would be a great opportunity to have DSG and VR6 software installed.:);):) Marcel, come out to the beach this fall.

If HPA is at all like C2, you will need a different (and much more expensive) cable to flash the ECU.

You can flash DSG with a cheapo generic eBay "fake Vagcom" cable, as long as you have the correct software to do it.

With C2 at least, flashing the ECU requires a completely different cable that retails for north of $300.

This is the kind of stuff you learn when you sit in your own car drinking beer at ToD while it is being flashed. :D

It's entirely possible that HPA does things differently though.
