Well decided to give him a nice bath the other day and actually it might have been his first in years, since it sat for a year before i got it around xmas. Finally got it runnin better, got the idle figured out so no more shuttin down when i engage the clutch, BUT drove it to my freinds the other day to give him a ride, showed him off, stretched his legs a bit, he ran GREAT!!
So i go inside we play some ps2, then i come out to leave and go to work and it won't start!!! Just a silent nothing which is a good sign of the 2nd occurance of the flat spotted starter
Soo tapped on it with a screwdriver, tried pop startin it into gear, and to even move the gear off the flatspot but nothing so far. I heard a clickin from one relay that sits somewhat sep. from the fuse panel, and when i kept the key turned i heard the relay begin to click. So bad starter with flat spot, or bad relay? I gues first step is checkin to see if im gettin power with test light and go from there.
My guess is starter is goin bad since its like VERY old and old owner knows he never replaced it. Any guess's? Thanks guys and lemme know what u think of the P wheels from my old 2 door a2 jetta
I like em!
